The Inglorious Vegetable

We’re huge fans of amazing ideas in food, truly, but sometimes you come across an idea or concept so brilliant you just have to share it with the world, and applaud the movement.

Intermarche, the French supermarket chain, took the initiative based off of a decision by the European Union to make 2014 the year against food waste, so the decided to take advantage of it.

They created a campaign for all the malformed fruits & vegetables, the one’s many farmers throw out or the market views as unsellable. The called it “The Inglorious Fruits & Vegetables” and sold them for 30% less than the regular, more perfect fruits & vegetables.
